On November 15, 2025, Monadnock Mushroom Club attended the third Monadnock Region Natural History Conference, a nature-based conference with a focus on the Monadnock Region. MMC shared a table with Monadnock Bird and Nature Club, and Tom and Nate chatted with conference attendees throughout the day, engaging with over 40 people during the conference, gaining new members, and selling merch, books, and other materials developed by MMC members.
The following day, MMC hosted a foray for the conference, where 16 people explored Horatio Colony, looking for fungi and also enjoying and discussing many other taxa. Despite the cold weather, the precipitation seemed to be productive for mushrooms, and many species were found, such as funeral bells, two species of oysters, many shelf fungi, and fruiting Chlorociboria mushrooms. Conference participants were hunting around the woods with childlike enthusiasm and running back to George and John, who expertly identified each of their finds.
